The British Embassy in Bishkek is part of a world-wide network, representing British political, economic and consular interests overseas and is now looking for a Corporate Services Officer to ensure the effective day-to-day management of the Embassy platform.
The main purpose of the Job is to manage the Embassy’s finances, human resources processes and estate.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Embassy's budget in an effective way based on Post needs and activities ensuring delivery of good value for money
  • Run post accounts, carry out end of month checks and keep post finance performance indicators on a high level
  • Manage local staff records, prepare monthly payroll
  • Conduct recruitment processes for new employees incl. residence staff and implement HR policies in line with FCO guidance, in liaison with the Europe & EECAD Regional Corporate Services Hub for HR
  • Deliver good value for money and comply with Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) procedures
  • Ensure the British Embassy estate is properly maintained and that health and safety standards met
  • Implement locally the FCO Corporate Services maintenance programme,
  • Management of maintenance budget, and hiring the properties
  • Assist with security regulations at Post
  • Ensure transport management/logistics
  • Experienced in financial planning and      budget management, including payroll;
  • Experience in estates      management/security/ H&S and Procurement and stock management/ Administrative/ logistics;
  • Confidence as a self-starter and willing      to take initiative.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage time      effectively whilst working in team      and independently, with minimum supervision;
  • Ability to work under pressure and      deliver at pace;
  • Excellent Communications Skills ability to      build and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders;
  • Fluent English and Russian.
  • At least 3 year experience working in      Finance/ HR/ Estates Departments in international organizations;
  • Advanced user of ORACLE based      management/accounting systems
  • Flexible, responsible, accurate and      reliable team player and preferably people management;

This is a full-time, fixed term contract position of 1 year with the possibility of renewal. The working hours are 36 net per week.
The monthly gross salary for this position will be paid at a locally engaged A2 level.
The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a professional background check and security clearance and is expected to commence employment as soon as possible.
Staff recruited locally by the British Embassy in Bishkek is subject to Terms and Conditions of Service based on local Kyrgyzstan employment law.
Monthly pay is subject to mandatory tax contributions as per the local regulations . A 13th month salary is payable. Employees are entitled to 24 working days leave per calendar year. The Embassy provides medical insurance for employees and dependants.
