MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Responsible for the security of the High Commission’s resources and assets. To implement ‘orders’ to ensure the security of staff and assets within the British High Commission Offices as directed by the Post Security Manager (PSM) and the Regional Overseas Security Manager (ROSM) or his appointed Security Coordinator. The CCTV Operator position will work in conjunction with the Shift in Charge in ensuring effective procedures are in place to manage security emergencies. During their period of duty they will be under the direct control of Post Security Manager.
The CCTV Operator will comply with security regulations and proactively drive through security policy and an excellent service delivery.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To ensure perimeter security
- Surveillance detection
- Line management responsibilities for Security Guards
- Detecting fire hazards, trespassing, illegal parking
- To provide effective cover for Shift in Charge when he/she will be out of office for Rapid Deployment.
- Reporting incidents inside and outside the compound
- To observe screening procedures at different entry points of the compound
- To be constantly aware of any security developments and be able to disseminate any relevant information to co-worker
- Some knowledge of CCTV operation is desirable but not a must.
- Proficiency in IT software like MS Word, Excel and Outlook is desirable. CCTV Operator will be
required to participate to the best of their ability in any training given to them.
CCTV Operator must be professional and ALERT AT ALL TIMES. Sleeping on duty is not allowed and any CCTV Operator caught doing this will have disciplinary procedures taken against them.
CCTV Operators are never to leave their place of duty until they have been properly relieved by another CCTV Operator, regardless of the situation. Failure to comply with this instruction will also result in disciplinary action being taken against the individuals concerned.

For British High Commission (BHC) candidates, the Local Staff BHC Terms & Conditions will apply.
For other than BHC candidates, salary will be BDT 33,451 per month. There is also a shift disturbance allowance of Taka 1,500 per month.
